Hello, I am Corinne Dean and I am an artist because I decided so at age 5, and never changed my mind.

I earned my BFA at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, the city where I was born and raised.

My work, whether sewn, drawn, or painted, is mostly inspired by childhood stories and fairy tales and the flora and fauna that surround them. Particularly, the mystery that a single illustration or image can create when taken out of context and viewed on its own. One begins to look at these images differently, creating a new story, their own story from the clues the drawing provides. Looking at pictures in this way is, again, something I started doing around age 5 and never stopped.

I live in Chicago, IL with my husband and two children. I also teach art to kids and adults and generally try to find a way to spend my time around creative people whenever I can.
